Joe Kantor Artist Statement

Joe Kantor, Sculptor

Joe Kantor, Holmes, NY, has been creating sculpture for over 50 years. He loves designing shapes and forms working with metal, wood, rocks and recycled media.  His ideas for creating a work derive from his curiosity aboutnature and the world around him.  Joe, a retired educator, is self-taught developing his artwork primarily in his garage workshop with tools and materials he has collected over the years.  He attributes his sense of design tohis many visits to local and international sculpture parks and museums and studying the works of Picasso, Calder, Dali and others.
